May’s Veterans Spotlight – James R. Spaulding
James R. Spaulding served in the United States Navy from March 1967 to December 1970. He joined the military because of his parents. James was a plane captain in squadron VA-152, stationed at the Naval Air Station in Alameda, CA. His role as a Navy Plane Captain was to keep the assigned A/Cs up and ready to fly.
The most challenging aspect of his deployment was being away from his family. James said the most rewarding aspect was coming home.
James, thank you for your time, bravery, and sacrifice for this country.
Fair Winds and Following Seas – a phrase derived from two original sources that has become a nautical blessing used to wish someone good luck on their journey.
